Choose Your Fold: A Guide to Brochure Layouts

Every story has a shape.
Pick the layout that suits yours best.

🌀 Trifold

🪞 Z-Fold

Also known as: Letter fold

How it folds: Divides the page into three panels, folded inward (like a pamphlet).

Best for: General information, awareness campaigns, community events, menus, or services.

Why choose this: Familiar and versatile, easy to organize with an intro, body, and contact info.

How it folds: Like a zigzag — three panels folded in opposite directions (shaped like the letter "Z").

Best for: Timelines, process explanations, storytelling flow, or visuals that stretch across panels.

Why choose this: Opens wide for a continuous, flowing design — great for infographics or journeys.

🧵 Bi-Fold

Also known as: Half-fold

How it folds: One simple fold down the center, like a greeting card.

Best for: Minimalist designs, short campaigns, invitations, or arts-based brochures.

Why choose this: Clean and straightforward — ideal if you don’t need to say much, but want it to look great.

📂 Gate Fold

How it folds: Two end panels open outwards to reveal a larger center panel (like opening a gate).

Best for: Visual impact, special features, unveiling content (e.g., a featured product or call-to-action).

Why choose this: A wow-factor layout that draws the reader in — perfect for showcasing art, stories, or big reveals.

🔄 Accordion Fold

How it folds: Multiple panels folded back and forth, like an accordion. Usually 4+ panels.

Best for: Educational content, multi-language versions, long lists, or layered info.

Why choose this: Great for storytelling, complex data, or multi-step instructions with flow.
